Privacy Policy

The short version

2FA.zip is a browser-based TOTP code generator. We do not collect personal data. We do not use cookies. Your secret keys never leave your device. That is the gist of it, but read on for the full picture.

What we collect (almost nothing)

We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information. There are no user accounts, no sign-up forms, no login screens. You open the page, use the tool, and leave.

The only analytics data collection on this site comes from our self-hosted Plausible Analytics instance served from analytics.aculix.online. It is used to understand aggregate traffic trends such as page views, popular pages, and visitor countries. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and your TOTP secret key is never included in analytics data.

Your secret keys stay on your device

When you enter a TOTP secret key into this tool, it is processed entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. The key is held in memory only while the page is open. We do not send it to any server. We do not store it in cookies, localStorage, or any other persistent storage. Close the tab and it is gone.

Cookies

We do not use cookies or browser storage to save your TOTP secrets or generated codes. The generator works without storing your secret key in cookies, localStorage, or any other persistent storage.

Third-party services

The site is hosted as a static website. Beyond our self-hosted Plausible analytics script, we do not load advertising networks or social media trackers, and we do not use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel. We do load web fonts from Google Fonts for the site's typography, but those font requests never include your TOTP secret key.

Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, children included. Since we collect no personal information at all, there is nothing specific to say here beyond that.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Since we do not collect email addresses, we cannot notify you directly. We recommend checking back occasionally if this matters to you.
